The J. AMADO ARANETA FOUNDATION, INC. (JAAF) is the social development arm of the Araneta Group, dedicated to the vision and legacy of its Founder.
Don Amado, the visionary builder, believed that every Filipino deserves a good life and always wanted to offer the best for the greatest number. The Araneta Group he founded has grown into a diverse and progressive group of companies anchored on property development, food service, leisure, and hospitality.
Incorporated with the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on May 9, 2002, the Foundation is a non-stock, not-for-profit Corporation. It is registered with the Department of Social Welfare and Development, certified by the Philippine Council of NGO Certification, and accredited by the Department of Tourism. It is a member of the Association of Foundations, Association of Greater Manila Area Museums, and Zero Extreme Poverty 2030.
The J. Amado Araneta Foundation started as a grant-making organization with the children of Don Amado – Jorge, Judy, and Maria continuing his philanthropic legacy by extending assistance to indigent individuals, non-profit organizations, religious institutions, and local government units.
Today, it has become a grant – operating organization with programs focusing on education, culture, arts, and sports development, community development, and religious/ spiritual development. Its core reach includes Greater Manila Area, Negros Occidental and Rizal Province. It is supporting over 200 scholars nationwide; continuing to nurture its art and history museum, Gateway Gallery; extends emergency relief assistance; provides housing, livelihood and health initiatives for community development in its priority areas, and have made collaborations for an holistic development of Filipinos.
Based in Quezon City, Philippines, J. Amado Araneta Foundation is led by President Judy Araneta-Roxas, under the direction of its Board of Trustees, chaired by Jorge L. Araneta.
